Operations Manager
Description
We are currently seeking a Operations Manager with strong bilingual (French and English) proficiency for a logistic company. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day transportation operations, fostering positive relationships with drivers, customers, and colleagues. The position requires effective communication with various departments, implementing performance metrics, and ensuring a high level of service to both internal and external customers.
 
Bonus Program: Upon completing the probation period, the candidate will be enrolled in the bonus program.
Responsabilités
Responsibilities:
  • Manage transportation activities throughout the province
  • Direct and develop logistic processes, establish improvement plans for deliveries, routing, and fleet management
  • Implement and monitor performance metrics for transportation operations
  • Maintain communication with other departments and contribute relevant information for efficient coordination
  • Report issues and trends to facilitate efficiencies, including revenue and expense management
  • Create and maintain a high-performance culture, providing training and coaching to staff
  • Handle customer escalation situations requiring increased attention
  • Provide outstanding customer service and problem resolution
  • Be on-call to support with after-hours operational emergencies
Qualifications
Requirements:
  • 5 years of transportation management and supervisory experience
  • Bilingual - French and English (written and spoken) is a MUST
  • Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret client needs, offering appropriate options and resolutions
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with internal and external partners
  • Exceptional judgment for independent decision-making
  • Strong teamwork and team-building skills
  • Positive team attitude and strong work ethic
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability, able to multi-task under pressure
  • Commitment to providing outstanding internal and external customer service
  • Experience in a 24/7 operation, preferably in the transportation industry
  • MS Office proficiency required
  • Solid management of large volume LTL operations
  • General understanding of Hours of Service and transportation regulations
  • AS400 experience considered an asset
