The Director of Operations will oversee the operations of our fresh and frozen meat distribution facility. This role requires strong leadership to lead the operations teams, ensure inventory accuracy, and collaborate with logistics and sales. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a deep understanding of large-scale distribution and warehousing/logistics operations in the food industry. The candidate will be joining and surrounded by a high performing strong team of industry professionals.
•Lead and manage the Shipping, Receiving, and QA teams (approx. 30 employees).
•Oversee end-to-end warehousing and logistics operations, including inventory management, temperature control, and order fulfillment.
•Coordinate with the logistics team to streamline inbound and outbound shipments.
•Manage lift truck fleet, schedule upgrades, and oversee maintenance contracts.
•Champion the ongoing development and enhancement of the ERP system.
•Ensure strict adherence to HACCP, SQF, and regulatory standards.
•Oversee building maintenance and ensure warehouse security protocols.
•Assist in recruiting and training employees to maintain operational efficiency.
•Significant experience in food and meat distribution, warehousing and logistics.
•7-10 years of experience in warehouse operations and logistics, preferably within the food or meat distribution industry
•Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
•Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
•HACCP, SQF, and forklift license are strong assets.
•Bilingual in French and English.Ability to manage, train, and develop warehouse staff.
•Willingness to be hands-on when necessary while maintaining a strategic oversight role
•Salary: $135,000 - $150,000 per year
