The HR Director’s role will have the responsibility to define, develop and execute the HR function within the company, a leading Quebec company poised to become a national leader in this fast-growing industry.  The candidate will support the entire team, including operations/manufacturing team, sales & marketing, finance, administration and executive team.  This role reports directly to the president. Responsibilities
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Employee orientation, development, and training
  • Lead development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Performance management and improvement systems
  • Support organization development strategy in partnership with executive team
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Employee relationship management
  • Company-employee communication including issues management across and within functions
  • Compensation and benefits administration
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Ensure employee safety, welfare, and wellness education
Qualifications

Proven experience as an HR Generalist or Director – 5+ years

  • Exceptional communication skills: listening, speaking, and writing (both in English and French)
  • Experience with general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of Quebec & national employment/labor laws
  • Strong recruiting experience; network of Quebec candidates and assets
  • Experience in CPG preferred, or manufacturing would be a great asset
  • Highly organized, proven ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Corporate maturity – staying calm under pressure
  • Confidentiality - handles confidential and sensitive information that must not be shared with others.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) will be a plus
  • Aptitude in problem-solving, great leadership & interpersonal skills
  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
  • Ability to travel – spending up to 1 day/week at facility in western Quebec
  • Some evening/weekend work as required
