The HR Director’s role will have the responsibility to define, develop and execute the HR function within the company, a leading Quebec company poised to become a national leader in this fast-growing industry. The candidate will support the entire team, including operations/manufacturing team, sales & marketing, finance, administration and executive team. This role reports directly to the president. Responsibilities
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
- Employee orientation, development, and training
- Lead development and implementation of human resource policies
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
- Performance management and improvement systems
- Support organization development strategy in partnership with executive team
- Policy development and documentation
- Employee relationship management
- Company-employee communication including issues management across and within functions
- Compensation and benefits administration
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations
- Ensure employee safety, welfare, and wellness education
Qualifications
Proven experience as an HR Generalist or Director – 5+ years
- Exceptional communication skills: listening, speaking, and writing (both in English and French)
- Experience with general human resources policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of Quebec & national employment/labor laws
- Strong recruiting experience; network of Quebec candidates and assets
- Experience in CPG preferred, or manufacturing would be a great asset
- Highly organized, proven ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Corporate maturity – staying calm under pressure
- Confidentiality - handles confidential and sensitive information that must not be shared with others.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) will be a plus
- Aptitude in problem-solving, great leadership & interpersonal skills
- Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
- Ability to travel – spending up to 1 day/week at facility in western Quebec
- Some evening/weekend work as required
